Our Purpose

More than dance — a living heritage

Drum & Song

Drum & Song

In our stories we are taught the first drum beat you hear is the sound of your mother's heartbeat. Dancing and Singing was originally done to celebrate, mourn, tell stories, and connect the community. Today we also drum and dance for fun.

Heritage

Heritage

We honor the distinct heritage and traditions of our Sugpiaq/Alutiiq Ancestors. We also honor all Alaska Native Cultures that call Alaska home. Athabascan, Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian, Yup'ik, Cup'ik, Inupiaq, and Unangan/s.

Community

Community

Dance is how we gather, celebrate, grieve, and give thanks. Our songs belong to everyone.
